The B&B

Surrounded by greenery

B&B Luci nel Bosco

Luci nel Bosco (Italian for “Lights in the woods”) is delightfully located on the lush green hills of Montalto, surrounded by forests and secular oak trees. The B&B was planned and created following modern green-building techniques and it profoundly resonates with the nature all around. Luci nel Bosco is “dressed in harmony”, it is a place where we can discover and re-discover ourselves, take long walks at all times of the year, lay down in the sun and meet people that share a deep love for nature and the magic behind a simple life.

The house

Our house is located where once was an old stone farmhouse called “Ca’Sabatini”. The largest part of the house was used for farming and storing hay, while the rest hosted the family who ran the activity, that occupied a kitchen with a large fireplace on the ground floor and a few bedrooms on the upper floor. The rest of the cottage was used as a barn and stable.

The new house Luci nel Bosco, a green-building, has the colour of the sun and is wood-scented. On the ground floor we find the entrance, Daniela’s apartment, the Hall (la Sala Grande), the B&B kitchen and two toilets (one accessible for physical disabilities). Inside, on the ground floor we have an entrance hall, Daniela’s apartment, the Hall, the B&B kitchen, and two bathrooms, including one for the disabled.
On the second floor we find Sabrina’s apartment and the four ensuite bedrooms for our Guests.

Our house offers four ensuite bedrooms with high wooden ceilings, pastel-coloured walls and large windows overlooking the greenery.

The Hall

The large hall (63 square meters) is well-lit thanks to four windows and a door window opening on the garden and the terraced flowerbeds. The ceiling with wooden beams, the soft cream colour of the walls and the ceramic wood stove make this versatile place cozy and warm.

The park

The 16.000 square meters around the house offer several areas with different characteristics to suit your needs: the Orchard and Vegetable Garden with a pond with water lilies and water plants; a large Relax area with sunbeds and parasols.

Under a secular Maple tree the Kids area and a few meters away the Gazebo area designed for parties, ceremonies and big events in the open. Further away, the camping area has been created upon layered terraces among the trees, to welcome those who love to sleep in the open air under the stars.

A shaded grove brings to a brook, where you can sit, relax, read or meditate and listen to the sounds of nature.

Historic center of Reggio Emilia
Reggio Emilia, also known as the Tricolour Flag town, as here the future Italian flag was adopted for the first time in 1797, has an ancient history: in the XI century, the town was the heart of Matilde’s county in the neighbouring territory. Later, important figures marked its Renaissance, ranging from Boiardo to Ariosto, the great poet of The Orlando Furioso. Nowadays, famous for its gastronomy, lifestyle quality and, internationally, the “best kindergartens in the world”, Reggio Emilia is also a town of art, whose symbols are the XVII-century Basilica della Ghiara and the famous Teatro Municipale Valli. A tour may start from the Sala del Tricolore (Tricolour Flag Hall) and its Museum, which goes over the historical events with Napoleonic memorabilia and relics of the Risorgimento. The visit continues in the nearby Piazza Prampolini or Piazza Grande, with its statue of the torrent Crostolo and, by crossing the Broletto arcades, reach the small Piazza San Prospero, seat of the traditional market, and then Piazza Fontanesi, a sort of open sitting room surrounded by trees.
